Ronkonkoma, your commute just got a lot more colorful.
Two giant new murals were unveiled Monday, Oct. 12, at Station Yards, the neighborhood rising next to the Ronkonkoma LIRR station. One comes from internationally known Spanish artist Lula Goce. The other comes from Brooklyn artist Jenna Morello.

Goce’s piece, “The Moving Garden,” wraps across the Station Yards parking garage with flowers and birds. Look closer and you will find a historic train and an F-14 Tomcat, a salute to Long Island’s aviation history. Goce says she wanted to create a moment of wonder in a place built around everyday movement.
Morello’s mural, “Passing Through,” covers The French Workshop near the train station. It plays with the railroad tracks using bold color and twisted perspective, so you are never quite sure if the tracks are coming or going.
A Long Island story
The project was coordinated by the Patchogue Arts Council and the Museum of Contemporary Art Long Island, working with Station Yards developer TRITEC Real Estate Company. The two murals are among four Long Island projects done through New York State’s 2026 CHARM program, short for Cultivating Havens for the Arts through Regional Murals.
Trains, jets and a whole lot of color. Long Island history, painted big enough to see from the platform.
