Bellport, your lunch break just got loud. In the best way.
Pooh’s Soul Food Truck has been parked outside the Bellport train station on Montauk Highway for about two months, and the line started on day one.
The man at the grill is Chavon Fredericks, better known as Pooh. He cooks everything from scratch: fried whiting, chicken, pork chops, shrimp and clams, all hit with his own secret seasoning. Then come the sides. Collard greens, candied yams, waffle fries, mac and cheese.

A Long Island story
Pooh is a Wyandanch native and North Babylon High grad who spent years cutting hair at his own barbershop in North Babylon. He learned soul food from his wife, Sharon, the kind of cooking grandparents make. The truck launched in October 2025 in Mastic Beach and Shirley before landing in Bellport.
Online he’s a one-man hype squad, dancing, joking and tossing wings in the air for more than 10,000 followers across TikTok and Instagram. Every post ends the same way: “Bliiiiing!”
He gives back, too. Free hot dogs for kids this summer, hot meals for families in need, and a new GoFundMe to feed veterans, seniors and anyone who could use a plate. “Food is a form of happiness,” he told GLI.
Go say hi, grab a shrimp basket, and tell him WLIT sent you. Keep it locked to WLIT.FM for more Long Island eats.
