Long Island, here is your excuse to order pizza this October.
Two local pizza spots are turning Breast Cancer Awareness Month into a delicious way to give back, with money going to Making Strides of Long Island.
All you have to do is eat. Or drink. Or both.

- Gives back
- $5 per pie at Americano on Tuesdays; $2 per Raspberry Ribbon at The Pizzeria
Pizza Tuesdays in Syosset
At Americano Pizza Shop, owner Vinny Corrao is donating $5 from every pie sold on Tuesdays all month. He says it is about giving back to a community that has shown his shop so much love.
A pink drink with a purpose
The Pizzeria created the Raspberry Ribbon just for this month. It is made with raspberry tea-infused vodka, limoncello, fresh lemon juice and simple syrup, and $2 from every one goes to the cause.
“If a specialty cocktail can raise even an ounce of awareness while supporting a cause that means so much to so many, then it was worth creating,” said co-founder Cliff Weinstein.
A Long Island story
The American Cancer Society says these two are part of a bigger wave of Long Island businesses backing its Making Strides Against Breast Cancer mission. That is Long Island at its best: show up, chip in, and have a good time doing it.
So grab a slice, raise a glass, and give back. Keep it locked to WLIT.FM.
