A Long Island story
This was Khabalaev’s second fight in the PFL, and his second first-round finish. He debuted on July 31 at PFL New York at UBS Arena in Elmont, stopping Chamy Delva in the first round in front of a home crowd. Longo’s MMA literally closed early that night so the whole gym could go cheer him on.
He sharpens up in Garden City with coach Eric Hyer and the Longo’s team, the same Long Island gym that has turned out world champions. A 6-foot striker with a boxing-heavy, unorthodox style, he’s quickly becoming one of the PFL lightweight prospects people are talking about.
Two PFL fights. Two first-round finishes. Long Island, learn the name. Follow him at @levan_khabalaev.
We’ll keep you posted on his next fight here and on air. Keep it locked to WLIT.FM.
