Deer Park, somebody stopped for gas and drove off a lot richer.

A $2 million Mega Millions ticket was sold at the Bolla convenience store inside a gas station on Deer Park Avenue, and the prize has now been claimed, according to the New York Lottery.

The ticket matched the first five numbers in the April 7 drawing. That second prize usually pays $1 million, but this ticket was randomly hit with a 2X multiplier at purchase. Double the money.

A Long Island story

The winner came forward as JAI Holdings Trust of Syosset, which took a one-time lump sum last month. Lottery officials did not say who is behind the trust. Big winners often claim through a trust or LLC to keep their names out of the spotlight and avoid a flood of calls and requests.

So somewhere on Long Island, a person is keeping a very good secret. We respect it.
