Long Island, Johnny Lawrence and Chozen just had a secret meeting. And the guy who created Cobra Kai was sitting right between them.
Cobra Kai co-creator Jon Hurwitz posted a black-and-white photo on Instagram this week of himself at a table with William Zabka and Yuji Okumoto. His caption: “Secret meeting of the Daniel LaRusso fan club.” Zabka posted the same shot the same day with “Somewhere in the valley,” plus a #CobraKaiNeverDies hashtag.

Cobra Kai never dies
Netflix’s Cobra Kai wrapped its sixth and final season in 2025. Since then, Hurwitz and fellow creators Josh Heald and Hayden Schlossberg have said again and again that they want more stories in the “Miyagiverse.” Ideas they’ve floated include a Hawk and Demetri series and a Mr. Miyagi prequel. Netflix hasn’t greenlit any of them yet.
They’ve been busy, though. Hurwitz and Schlossberg’s 72 Hours hit No. 1 on Netflix this summer, and Zabka joined Season 2 of Prime Video’s Scarpetta. Okumoto spent the year celebrating The Karate Kid Part II, which turned 40 in June.

So is this a spinoff meeting or just friends catching up? Nobody’s saying. But a creator, Johnny and Chozen at one table with “secret meeting” in the caption? We’re paying attention. We’ll share details here and on air the minute anything is announced. Keep it locked to WLIT.FM.
