Brandon Gilpin, a graduate of Amityville High School and the Long Island High School for the Arts, appears on Fox’s new series “Best Medicine” on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m.
Gilpin finished high school in 2017 and has been acting for about 10 years. His resume already includes “Blue Bloods,” “Grown-ish” and “P-Valley.” How did he land this one? In his words to Greater Long Island: “I auditioned and I got the part!”

The show follows Martin Best, a top Boston surgeon who walks away from his big-time career and heads back to the small East Coast fishing town where he spent childhood summers. There, he becomes the local general practitioner.
A Long Island story
Gilpin says the shoot was amazing and he worked with a lot of cool actors. The best part? The show’s fictional seaside town reminded him of home. Small town, close community, water everywhere. Sounds a lot like Long Island to us.
From an Amityville classroom to a primetime network drama is a big leap, and it took a decade of grinding to get here. That is the Long Island way.
Tune in, cheer him on, and keep it locked to WLIT.FM for more Long Islanders making moves.
