Levittown, put the paper plates back out. Vincenzo’s is coming back.
The pizzeria on Wantagh Avenue served what was supposed to be its final pie on Halloween after eight years in the CVS shopping center. The shop had a buyer, a price and a Nov. 2 closing date. Then the buyers walked away.

Owner Garret Klein broke the news on Facebook with a very Long Island line: “So, after further review… VINCENZO’S IS BACK.” He’s an Islanders fan, and he joked that the John Spano mess of the ’90s should have taught him not to celebrate a sale before it closes.
A Long Island story
When word got out that Vincenzo’s was closing, the regulars showed up with messages and visits. Klein said it reminded him how much the town means to him. He’s watched kids grow up, go off to college and start their lives, one dinner at a time.
Now he’s using the do-over to freshen up the shop and roll out new dishes he’s had in the works. Updates and the reopening date will come on the pizzeria’s Facebook page.
