Long Island, it’s here. Tonight at 7 PM ET, the defending NBA champion New York Knicks open the season against the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden. Before the ball goes up, they get their rings.

Ring Night at the Garden

The Knicks won the title in June 2026. It was their first championship in half a century and the third in franchise history.

Tonight the team receives its championship rings, and the banner is unveiled at MSG before tip-off. Head coach Mike Brown led the run, and the Garden gets one more night to celebrate it before the title defense officially begins.

If you’ve waited your whole life to see a new banner go up at MSG, tonight is the night. Get there early, or get your seat on the couch locked in well before 7.

LeBron Gets a Front-Row Seat

The guest list comes with a twist. LeBron James is now with the 76ers, and he will be on the floor for the ceremony.

He knows the building. Including the playoffs, LeBron is 28-11 at MSG, with two 50-point games and 12 games of 30 points or more. He once called the Garden “the mecca of basketball.”

Tonight he gets to watch the mecca hang a new banner. Expect the Garden to let him hear about it.

From Parade to Opener

If you’re still catching your breath from the offseason, you’re not alone. New York threw the first-ever Knicks ticker-tape parade in June. Jalen Brunson hosted the SNL Season 52 opener.

Brunson also took home three ESPYs, including Best Championship Performance for his 45-point Game 5. OG Anunoby won Best Play for his final-second tip-in in Game 4, and the Knicks won Best Team. Karl-Anthony Towns married Jordyn Woods. Not a bad few months.

Now it’s back to work. Last season the Knicks went 53-29, including 30-10 at home. The 76ers finished 45-37. The Knicks have no injuries listed, so the champs should be at full strength for the opener.

The game airs nationally on NBC, with the radio call on ESPN Radio. Tip-off is 7:00 PM ET.

Long Island is Knicks country, and tonight is a night to be loud about it. At the Garden, at your local spot or on the couch, get loud with us.
