He built the show. Now he plays it.
Jay-Z’s company, Roc Nation, has produced the halftime show since it partnered with the NFL in 2019, and that deal was renewed in 2024. Since then the stage has gone to Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Usher, Kendrick Lamar and, this past February, Bad Bunny.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said that when the league first reached its agreement with Roc Nation, he had “just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him.”
The moment is here. “From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”
On the broadcast, Jason Kelce put it simply: “He is the GOAT. He’s got more stadium-ready hits than most artists have songs, period.”
He just played this stadium
Jay-Z played two nights of his JAY-Z30 Concert Series at SoFi on Oct. 23 and 24, celebrating 30 years of Reasonable Doubt and 25 years of The Blueprint. Blue Ivy Carter, John Legend, DJ Khaled, Too Short, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg all joined him on that run.
So who comes out in February? Beyoncé headlined Super Bowl XLVII and was a special guest at Super Bowl 50. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg headlined the last Super Bowl at SoFi, Super Bowl LVI. Nobody has been announced yet.
