Westport Police kick off annual holiday toy drive — how to donate

December 08, 20251 min read

Westport Police are running their annual holiday toy drive to make sure local kids have gifts under the tree this season. Officers will be collecting new, unwrapped toys at ASF Sports & Outdoors (1560 Post Road East) over two consecutive weekends, with officers on-site 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. each day. Donations are distributed to area children through local partners and community organizations.

If you can’t make the in-person collection, the department says additional drop-off locations are set up around town. Look for clearly marked bins, or check Westport Police social channels for the latest list of sites. Popular donation ideas include board games, building sets, dolls/action figures, arts & crafts kits, sports balls, and teen gift cards (please keep items new and unwrapped).

WLIT will update this post if hours, dates, or locations change. If your business wants to host a bin or make a bulk donation, contact the department’s community policing team for coordination details.
