DJ Michael Savage's love for music began at an early age...
... nurtured by his parents' record collection, which featured a diverse array of Motown, 60’s rock, 70’s disco, funk and soul, and 80’s new wave and pop.
Growing up in New York City during the 90s, he was deeply influenced by the golden era of hip hop, particularly the NY boom bap sound, radio DJs on Hot 97 and 98.7, and the iconic mixtape DJs of NYC.
In the mid-90s, Michael started frequenting NYC’s legendary clubs such as Limelight, Tunnel, Palladium, Roxy, and SoundFactory as well as many of the legendary underground raves that were thrown in and around NYC. Here, he witnessed some of the greatest house DJs in the world, which sparked his passion for underground dance music.
This multifaceted love for hip hop, house, and all genres of music led him to purchase his first set of Technics turntables in 1997. After two years of diligent practice, DJ Michael Savage began DJing at local bars and clubs, initially performing at Thursday night college parties. His talent and dedication soon earned him spots at many of the NYC clubs he once attended as a patron. Over the years, DJ Michael Savage has spun at numerous clubs in New York and held residencies at multiple venues on Long Island.
DJ Michael Savage has an extensive background, performing at a wide range of clubs, lounges, and music venues across New York. His notable residencies include Molly’s (NJ), TJ Finley's, McFadden's RVC, and his current long-standing residency at Mulcahy’s in Wantagh, NY, where he has been a fixture for over ten years. In the summer of 2024, he made his debut at Flynn’s Fire Island, playing to multiple sold-out crowds. His performances at Mulcahy's, particularly on Halloween, Thanksgiving Eve, and New Year's Eve, consistently draw over 1,500 attendees, showcasing his versatility and ability to entertain large audiences.
