Buffalo Wild Wings Location at Broadway Commons Closes as Redevelopment Continues

February 08, 20261 min read

A familiar sports-bar stop for wings and game nights on Long Island has shut its doors. The Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant at Broadway Commons in Hicksville served its final customers after dinner on Sunday, according to confirmation from the property’s ownership.

No specific reason for the closure was provided. However, the timing comes shortly after the permanent shutdown of the mall’s upstairs food court on New Year’s Eve — a move tied to a large-scale redevelopment project planned for the shopping center. The renovation effort is expected to exceed $100 million and represents a major shift in how the property will be used in the future.

Just weeks earlier, ownership had indicated that larger restaurants with their own exterior entrances — including Buffalo Wild Wings — might remain open and potentially be incorporated into the updated complex. That possibility ultimately did not materialize, and the Hicksville location has now ceased operations.

Despite the closure, the brand still maintains a presence across Long Island. Eight full-service locations remain open in Nassau and Suffolk counties, including sites in Garden City, Valley Stream, Farmingdale, North Babylon, Centereach, Miller Place, Bay Shore and Riverhead. The company also operates three smaller quick-service takeout-focused locations in Bellmore, Shirley and Patchogue.

For regular customers, the closing marks the end of an era at Broadway Commons — once a hub for casual dining and sports viewing — while signaling the continued transformation of the property as redevelopment progresses.
