Tickets: where, when, and how to buy smart

  • Official channels first. Start with the venue’s official calendar and Ticketmaster/Live Nation event pages to see face-value inventory and add-ons (Fast Lane, Citi VIP Club, Premier Parking).

  • Presales & on-sales. National tours tend to open presales several days before the public on-sale; sign up for the artist’s and venue’s email/SMS to get the codes in time.

  • Secondary market sanity-check. If face value sells out, compare reputable resellers against official “verified resale” listings on the primary event page.

Seating & sightlines

Jones Beach is a bayside amphitheater — great sunsets, open air, and that ocean breeze. Lower sections put you under the roof with better weather protection; uppers have panoramic sightlines but can feel windier. If you’re sensitive to the elements, prioritize rows under cover and bring layers for night shows even in July/August.

Venue essentials Long Islanders ask every year

Bag policy (strict and enforced).
A clear bag policy is in place. Allowed: clear plastic/vinyl totes up to 12" x 6" x 12" and/or small clutches up to 6" x 9" (clutches don’t have to be clear). Anything else will be turned away or must be returned to your car.

Box office hours.
Open event days only, typically 12:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. You can buy for any announced Jones Beach show at the box office, not just the night’s event.

Parking & upgrades.

  • Standard lots are in the state park complex; arrive early on beach-busy days.

  • Premier Parking (paid upgrade) puts you in the closest lot with a quicker post-show exit onto the parkway.

  • Fast Lane is offered at many shows to skip the general entry line.

Weather is real.
It’s truly open air. Shows are rain or shine unless safety dictates otherwise. Bring a shell layer; avoid umbrellas (often restricted).

Cashless & mobile tickets.
Expect mobile entry and contactless payments throughout the venue.

VIP club.
The Citi VIP Club upgrade (when available) adds private bars, restrooms, a dedicated entrance, and elevated views — worth it on sold-out summer nights.

Jones Beach summers are a Long Island ritual: sun dropping behind the stage, breeze off the bay, and sing-along crowds you won’t find in an arena. With classic names (Rod Stewart, John Mellencamp), 2000s/2010s favorites (Train, Staind), and modern country (Riley Green) already locked in — plus pop and nostalgia lineups incoming — 2026 is shaping up to be a busy calendar. Lock tickets early for peak weekends, layer up for the night air, and bookmark the venue’s “Know Before You Go” page so you’re not sprinting back to the car over a bag.
