The highly anticipated reopening of Brooklyn Mirage came to a sudden halt Thursday evening, as the popular outdoor venue abruptly canceled its sold-out show featuring hard techno artist Sara Landry—just hours before showtime.

In an official statement posted to Instagram, the Bushwick-based venue assured fans that the new and improved Brooklyn Mirage was physically ready to open, but fell short of receiving a final inspection clearance in time.

“To be clear: the venue is show ready and the New Mirage has been built to exacting safety, structural, mechanical, and technical specifications,” read the statement. “However, we were not able to meet the final inspection deadline today.”
All ticketholders for Thursday's event were promised full refunds. Landry, who was also scheduled to headline another sold-out performance Friday night, shared a heartfelt message with fans via Instagram, expressing her disappointment and offering an emotional apology.

“I am so gutted to be in this position, and my heart is broken,” she said. “I just want to say I’m sorry that things are not going to be working as we thought they would tonight.”
Despite extensive renovations aimed at upgrading the dance floor and sound systems, Brooklyn Mirage’s reopening plans hit a roadblock due to compliance issues, not ongoing construction. According to public records, the venue has multiple Department of Buildings permits currently on hold due to administrative actions.

Owned by Avant Gardner, Brooklyn Mirage has not yet announced a new reopening date. The venue emphasized its commitment to transparency and said it continues to work closely with city officials to resolve remaining issues.

Meanwhile, fans on social media had raised concerns in recent days, sharing photos of the space that appeared to still be under construction, fueling skepticism around whether the venue would meet its opening timeline.
