The Billboard-Listed WARM Global Dance Radio Chart Top 20 Is Coming to WLIT.FM

August 09, 20264 min read

LONG ISLAND, N.Y.WLIT.FM is adding another major weekly music show to its lineup.

The WARM Global Dance Radio Chart Top 20, the weekly countdown built from one of the world’s most extensive dance-radio airplay charts — and now officially featured on Billboard — is coming to WLIT.FM.

Each week, the show counts down the 20 most-played dance records on radio around the world, giving WLIT listeners a look at what is actually moving at dance radio internationally — from established superstars to records beginning to break globally.

This isn't a playlist. It's actual radio airplay.

That distinction is a big part of what makes the WARM countdown different.

The World Airplay Radio Monitor — WARM — tracks dance-radio airplay around the world, monitoring more than 200 dance stations across approximately 30 countries for its Global Dance Radio Chart.

The result is a chart based on what radio stations are actually playing rather than simply another streaming playlist, editorial selection or social-media trend list.

Every week, the Top 20 radio show takes the highest-ranking records from WARM's larger Top 100 Global Dance Radio Chart and turns the data into a one-hour countdown from No. 20 all the way to No. 1.

The show also spotlights the Highest New Entry, giving listeners a chance to hear one of the biggest new records entering the global chart.

And now WARM is on Billboard

The importance of the chart grew significantly in 2026.

In March, Billboard officially added the WARM Global Dance Radio Chart to its dance chart portfolio, putting WARM alongside Billboard's established dance and electronic rankings.

Billboard now publishes the WARM Global Dance Radio ranking directly on Billboard.com and regularly covers movement at the top of the chart.

That means artists including Calvin Harris, Kasabian, ANOTR, 54 Ultra, Bebe Rexha, Faithless, John Summit and David Guetta have already been featured in Billboard coverage surrounding the WARM chart since its addition.

For WLIT.FM, that makes the countdown a natural fit.

Hosted by Paul Rudd

The current WARM Global Dance Radio Chart Top 20 is hosted by British DJ, producer and radio personality Paul Rudd — yes, Paul Rudd, but not that Paul Rudd.

Rudd was named the show's official presenter as part of a 2026 refresh created through a partnership between WARM and international radio syndication company Syndicast.

Syndicast now handles the production and worldwide distribution of the countdown, with new audio imaging and a format designed specifically for dance and electronic radio.

A global dance chart on a Long Island station

This is exactly the kind of programming WLIT.FM wants to bring to Long Island.

Dance music has always been part of the DNA of New York and Long Island nightlife. DJs, clubs, promoters and dance-radio listeners here have traditionally been early adopters of records that eventually become national hits.

The WARM Top 20 gives listeners another way to discover those records — except instead of somebody deciding what might be big, the countdown is built around what is already receiving measurable radio airplay around the world.

One week could include established names like David Guetta, Calvin Harris or John Summit. The next could introduce an artist or record Long Island listeners haven't heard yet.

That's what makes a real countdown fun.

You don't completely know what No. 1 is going to be.

Why WLIT.FM is adding it

WLIT.FM has continued building its music programming around a simple idea: combine the music Long Island already loves with programming that helps listeners discover what's happening next.

The WARM Global Dance Radio Chart Top 20 fits directly into that strategy.

It's current.

It's international.

It's built around real radio data.

And because the underlying chart is now part of Billboard's dance-chart lineup, listeners can follow the same rankings being covered by one of the most recognized names in the music industry.

Most importantly, it's about the music.

Twenty records.

One countdown.

One No. 1 song.

Every week.

The world's biggest dance records — now on WLIT.FM

For dance-music fans, DJs and anyone who wants to know which records are gaining momentum beyond their own Spotify or Apple Music algorithm, the WARM countdown brings something different to WLIT.

It's a weekly snapshot of global dance radio right now.

And now Long Island gets to hear it on WLIT.FM.
